Books to read

The installation is 49 books on various subjects, attached to the fence of the Art Book Museum. As the title suggests – they can be read.

But actually:
What purpose does this exhibition serve?
What did the artist want to say through it?
Why hang books on the fence?
Doesn’t it harm them?
How long will it last?
And what will happen when it starts to rain?
Does the artistic book museum need outdoor advertising?
Did the creator have too many books at home and decided to get rid of them?
Isn’t it better to give to someone? Or to the library?
Is this a provocation to the waste paper and scrap collectors of Lodz?
Is it a test of how long the books can withstand the changing weather?
Is it a desire to interest passengers getting off the 55 bus in reading?
Is it to distract drivers passing along Tymienieckiego Street?
Is it a sociological experiment? Or a psychological one?
Do people walking down the street have time to read? And a whole book at that?
Is it possible to snatch one and take it?
Is there a hidden camera?
Are they artistic books?
Is it art?
And so on…
The installation was presented in 2012.
